Annie was the daughter of Ann Gibney and Philip Ledwidge, sister of Kate Ledwidge

Kate Ledwidge b. 1853 d. 27 April 1895. She was a seamstress.
Three other siblings have not been located yet.
In his young days Michael was known to be one of the citys best ball players. He was a catcher for the professional baseball team Washingtons (late 1800's) and several other well known teams. He followed in his father Peter's footsteps by becoming a cotton screwman, resigning from the Screwmen's Association in 1902 to join the police force. Michael lived at 623 St. Roch Ave. From that address his wife was buried, as well as her mother Ann and sister Kate. Michael was buried from the family home at 2728 Burgundy St.

Again, the copy of the obituary was too bad to scan: On Monday November 12, 1923 at 1:24 o'clock a.m., Peter William Fitzpatrick, a native of New Orleans, age 40, beloved husband of Louise Trebucq , son of the late Michael J. Fitzpatrick and Annie Ledwidge, and survived by wife and daughter Genevieve Mary Fitzpatrick.
Relatives, friends and acquaintances of the family also officers and members of the Pine Bluff Ark. Council No. 1139 and New Orleans Council No. 714 Knights of Columbus are respectfully invited to attend the funeral which will take place Tuesday, November 13, 1923 at 10 o'clock a.m. from the late residence of the deceased 2830 State Street with requiem high mass at Holy Name of Jesus church opposite Audubon park.

Mistaken for a burglar, at his home, Edwin was shot, and died from a gun shot wound, he was shot by a John Minor, the Godfather of John Dupuy. He was living in his aunt's (Mary Ann Fitzpatrick Andress) boarding house in Algiers, LA. Click here to read the newspaper article from the Delta Times..
Obit: FITZPATRICK - On Tuesday, April 8, 1913 at 11:55 oclock p.m. EDWIN JOHN FITZPATRICK, son of the late Annie Ledwidge and M. J. Fitzpatrick, aged 27 years, a native of New Orleans and a resident of Algiers for the past two years. The relatives, friends and acquaintances of the family are respectfully invited to attend the funeral, which will take place this (Thursday) afternoon, April 10. 1913, at 2:30 oclock from the residence of his aunt, Mrs. S. Katie Cecile Fitzpatrick enrolled in the Navy in New Orleans, La. 17 April, 1918. Rating held during enrollment y3c; y2c; y1c, provisional. On the 20th day of December, 1920 she was discharged from the U.S. Eight Naval District and the U.S. Naval Reserve Force. Average standing for term of enrollment was 3.8 of possible 4 and was recommended for re-enrollment. Herbert Carswell, who was a Petty Office in WWI, died at the young age of 31 after 3 years of marriage. Katie and Herbert were living in El Paso at the time of his death and she returned to New Orleans with her two young sons, Michael and Patrick and lived with her Aunt, Mary Ann Andress in Algiers and worked at the Eight Naval District which eventually took her and her two sons to Charleston, S.C. Katie retired from the Reserve Section District Headquarters in Charleston on 24 Oct 1919. A highlight of her career was to christen a ship.
